A native of Dallas, TX, Jefferson B. Hurley, M.D., FACS, FASCRS, began his career in general surgery as a missionary surgeon in Nigeria, West Africa, following his surgical residency. During his mission he had the unique opportunity to perform abdominal operations in a challenging setting, as well as performing for orthopedic, urologic, gynecologic and head and neck surgeries. Upon his return to the United States, Dr. Hurley focused on the specialty of colorectal surgery during his fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio, completed in 1999. Dr. Hurley is a leading authority in robotic colorectal surgery, passionately dedicated to educating surgical residents and colorectal fellows. He frequently presents on a national stage, sharing insights on complex robotic procedures and guiding seasoned surgeons to enhance their robotic patient outcomes.
